Florida Higher Education (FHE) Alliance for Substance Abuse
Prevention (ASAP)
FHE ASAP’s mission is to reduce substance abuse
in Florida’s college-student population by coordinating the
prevention efforts of colleges and universities throughout the
state. The coalition advocates for stronger prevention policies,
helps organize campus community partnerships, and helps members of
the coalition develop science-based prevention programs.

Responsible Beverage Alcohol Service Program
The SafeStaff® Responsible Beverage
Alcohol Service Program gives Florida’s licensed beveragealcohol vendors the knowledge, confidence and resources to
anticipate and react successfully and responsibly when serving
beverage alcohol.
Florida Students Against Destructive Decisions (FL SADD) program
Coordinated by the Florida Peer Education
office, this office emphasizes traffic safety issues, including
underage drinking and impaired driving, and addresses issues related
to drug use and abuse.
Florida Substance Abuse and Mental Health Corporation
This office oversee the state’s publicly funded
substance abuse and mental health services. It is charged with
making recommendations annually to the Governor and the Legislature
on policies designed to improve coordination and effectiveness of
the state’s publicly funded mental health and substance abuse
systems.
Florida Youth Substance Abuse Survey (FYSAS)
FYSAS assesses the risk and protective factors
of substance abuse and the prevalence and current usage of middle
and high school students in Florida. Survey results and data are
available for state, district and county levels.
